Join GaitWay as a Stable Hand and play a vital role in the daily care of our horses and the upkeep of our barn facility. We are looking for motivated, reliable team members who want to be a part of something impactful every day. Horse Care:
Feed and water horses according to individualized feeding plans
Bring horses in and out of stalls/pastures safely
Groom, blanket, and check horses for signs of illness or injury
Administer medications or treatments as directed by the Barn Manager
Barn Maintenance:
Clean stalls, replace shavings, and maintain clean water buckets
Clean and disinfect feed and water containers
Sweep, rake, and maintain a tidy barn aisle, tack room, and wash racks
Assist with maintaining fencing, gates, and other infrastructure as needed
Organize and restock supplies (hay, grain, shavings, tack, etc.)
Qualifications:
Prior horse handling experience preferred (on-the-job training provided)
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Strong communication skills and comfort working around people with disabilities
Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and the humane treatment of horses
Schedule & Compensation:
Flexible shifts available, including weekdays, weekends, and early mornings
Pay starts at $13/hr with potential for growth
Opportunity for growth into equine care leadership or program roles
