A volunteer manager will be in touch with you shortly to discus the details. This will be a phone conversation where we talk you through the volunteering program and you can ask questions. If you have already spoken to a team member, then you can move forward in the process.
Scroll to the bottom of this page and select a time/day to attend Volunteer Orientation. We schedule orientations once or twice a month. To request a specific date for a large group of volunteers, please contact the office directly.

To ensure the safety of our riders/clients and volunteers GaitWay reserves the right to perform a background check on all individuals 18 years of age and older.

You will receive an email listing all of these steps again. That email will contain our Volunteer Guide Book. Read through the Volunteer Guide Book. It only takes about 10 minutes and will answer a lot of questions you may have!

Take the quiz. No need to stress though, this quiz is open book and you can take it as many times as you like. The best part? Everyone passes!

And that's it! You are all set up to attend your volunteer orientation. At the orientation you will fill out paperwork and of course be trained on how to assist in lessons. Afterwards you will be sent an email with instructions on how to sign up for Remind, Track it Forward, and our resource center on the website.

Volunteer Levels
At GaitWay, we use a volunteer level system to organize our volunteers, their duties, and experience levels. New volunteers will be considered “in training” until attaining the first level. New levels are reached through a combination of attaining the required amount of volunteering hours and passing skills tests set for each level.
